Powering Regeneration in Catalonia
A participatory funding round connecting local regenerative projects with global Web3 infrastructure.
Local Regenerators Meet Global Allies
Catalonia's ecosystems and communities are regenerating life. Regenerant Catalunya connects these local efforts with global regenerative finance communities — raising funds, testing innovations, and channeling resources directly where they're needed most.

Program Kickoff: November 19, 2025
How It Works
Regenerant Catalunya uses a two-phase funding mechanism that combines direct project support with network-level collective governance, building capacity and infrastructure for ongoing bioregional regeneration.
- Phase 1: Baseline Allocation
Nov-Dec 2025 -
Each project receives €1,000-€1,500 based on minimum participation requirements and simplified impact evaluation.
Projects use Karma GAP for on-chain activity and impact reporting. - Phase 2: Network-Level Governance
Jan-Feb 2026 -
An additional €1,000 per project is allocated to network-level pools: ~€6,000 for Miceli Social network and ~€5,000 for La Fundició/Keras Buti network.
Networks collectively govern these funds using Web3 tools like Gardens, Safe, Sarafu, and Cycles (see more below).
Capacity Building & Support
Projects receive comprehensive capacity-building workshops covering Web3 fundamentals, impact measurement, and collaborative governance, plus technical mentorship from global partners.
Building Within Trusted Ecosystems
Rather than imposing external solutions, we work within established networks—Miceli Social (rural) and La Fundició/Keras Buti (urban)—leveraging existing relationships and social infrastructure.
Open-Source Knowledge
The program creates replicable models and open-source knowledge products that can be adapted globally, proving blockchain technology can serve real community needs.
At Least 80% Flows Directly to Projects
The program design ensures that at least 80% of the total budget flows directly to projects and their networks, split 50/50 between the two phases. This creates sustainable pathways for communities to integrate new tools while building ongoing infrastructure for bioregional regeneration.
Partners & Projects
Regenerant Catalunya brings together local Catalan networks and global Web3 funders to support regenerative projects across the bioregion.
Local Funders / Partners
Global Funder / Partner
🌍 Miceli Social
A cooperative service hub focused on rural resilience, based in Ripoll (Girona). Miceli catalyzes regenerative development in rural areas by supporting municipalities and community groups.
Contribution: €6,000
🏙️ La Fundició / Keras Buti
A cultural and social innovation cooperative based in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, linking the urban commons to bioregional practice through culture, education, and feminist economics since 2006.
Contribution: €5,000
🌐 Localism Fund
Operated by OpenCivics and Regen Coordination. Provides matching for credible local networks building practical models of political, economic, cultural, and ecological localism using Ethereum infrastructure. The Localism Fund matching pool is supported by global sponsors such as Gitcoin, Celo Public Goods, Ma Earth and Ethereum Foundation / Ethereum Everywhere.
Contribution: €18,200
🌱 Participating Projects
11 confirmed projects (10-12 total) carefully curated by our partners, spanning ecosystem restoration, community health, education, sustainable tourism, housing, food systems, and cultural innovation.
Web3 Tools & Infrastructure
Regenerant Catalunya uses a minimal Web3 stack designed to reduce friction, increase transparency, and unlock new forms of collaboration. Projects start with essential tools and can opt-in to pilot advanced capabilities.
Project-Level Tools (Phases 1 & 2)
Web3 Wallet on Celo
Requirement for Phase 1.
Secure self-custodial wallets for fund management. Recommended: Valora or Minipay with social recovery to prevent key loss.
Karma GAP
Requirement for Phase 1.
On-chain activity and impact reporting platform that creates a living, public "project resume" making impact visible and verifiable.
Optional Pilot Tools
Projects can opt-in to pilot these tools for enhanced capabilities:
- Silvi (tree planting dMRV)
- Hypercerts/Ecocerts (impact credentials)
- Gainforest (forest MRV)
- Kokonut Network (syntropic agroforestry)
Network-Level Tools (Phase 2)
Gardens
Conviction voting platform for community funding and governance using time-weighted voting.
Safe (Multisig)
Multi-signature wallet for secure, transparent treasury management requiring multiple approvals.
Sarafu Network
Local currency and commitment pooling platform for community digital currencies and collective projects.
Cycles
Open clearing protocol for mutual credit and circular economy, optimizing value exchange without external currency.
